The young people at Assurance Home are involved in
an exciting endeavor to 'gentle' and work with recently
captured, green broke, wild Mustangs. These incredible
little horses will eventually become therapeutic riding
horses for handicapped riding programs around the
country.
Involvement in this project offers our children enormous
opportunities to encounter and meet satisfying challenges
in their lives. Working with the horses teaches our
youngsters patience, trust, self-awareness and accomplishment.
It also gives them a sense of "specialness". Not many
of today's youth are involved in activities like this.
